+ Overview
Thank you so much for you willingness to lead others to be more closed conformed to Christ! Below are some helpful tips to consider when preparing to fascilitate a session.
+ Helpful Tips to Consider
- Make it Personal | These sessions are opportunities for participants to be clued in to what we, as Christian witnesses, have seen the Lord do for us so that they can see how the Lord is calling them. So make sure to tell your incredible story in terms of the topic, but teach from Sacred Scripture and the Catechism.
- Encourage Participation | Give time for participants to share their own stories in regard to the topic you’re teaching – they have a witness, too.
- "I don't know." | Please refrain from answering a question if you are uncertain of the answer. Instead, say: “I don’t know that answer, but I will make sure to get that answer for you for next week.” or “Let me get ___ to provide that answer for you."
- Maintain Peace | Please refrain from arguing. If a participant thinks that your answer is incorrect or incomplete, always defer to someone else to answer this discussion: “You know, I think that your question is important. Let me get ___ to give you more time to discuss this with you.”
+ Outline of a Typical SessionEach session should encourage participation and discussion. They should not be solely lectures, nor should there be videos longer than 5 minutes being shown. For each session, you will find in the workbook:
- an opening prayer,
- a "Discussion Topic" to begin,
- key points of the topic at hand,
- and small group questions.
