If I've committed a sin and the penalty is automatic excommunication and I didn't realize the penalty was automatic excommunication but I knew it was a sin and now I regret it and want to go to confession to confess it, will I be excommunicated after I confess
We believe in the Holy Spirit. We believe in the apparitions of Mary. We believe in the angels & the saints. Why does the church not condone the use of a psychic to communicate with the spirits of our deceased loved ones?
What are the rules for confessing abortion? I was talked into an one many years ago and I don't know if I understand all the rules for confessing this, and don't know who to ask. Does it have to be face to face or can I use the screen? Saying the words aloud is the worst. I tried once but I was so scared that I ended up making a making a vague confession that I am not sure it counted.
I have not completely left the faith, still attend mass regularly. I do not receive communion, because I was married but not in the church. I was wondering what would be my steps to being able to begin receiving communion again? I know I would have to go to confession.
The parable about the beggar Lazarus and the rich man told in Luke 16, indicates an awareness of each other from both heaven and hell. So much so, that in Luke 16:26 it describes a gulf between the two dimensions to prevent crossing over. Are you aware of the souls in hell if in heaven and vise versa? Will we see ones we could have witnessed to in agony?
I was raised Catholic, but left in my early 20's for a non-denominational Church. I now realize that this was a mistake and I want to come back. I was baptized, received first Communion and Confirmed. Do I have to go to classes or do some special process to return to Mass?
I was raised catholic, I have three children all baptized and two made their first communion. For some years we have been attending Methodist church regularly. We visited st Luke's because we are looking to come back to the church. What are the steps we need to take next? Can we receive communion? Thanks!
I have been seeing some articles on-line about the Pope changing some things in the annulment process. What is changed and how does it affect the average Catholic who needs to have their marriage situation straightened out?
If Mary is conceived without sin and remains without sin as the Catholic Church teaches, then doesn't that mean that Mary does not need a savior? That seems to go against Christian doctrine that we all need Christ as our Savior, doesn't it?
