Urgently Needed
Our ministry is made possible by the amazing support we receive from our community. We are staffed 100% by volunteers.
We have a continuing need for new volunteers to fill vacancies, provide support for our programs, and provide relief to some of our current volunteers. There are a number of programs and services in need of help throughout the year.
We have both short term and longer assignments available. Our long term positions require more training and usually a commitment of one day a week. Special projects like Thanksgiving Baskets and School Supplies are seasonal and temporary and require only a few hours for a few days in a year.
Fundraiser-
We are looking for a new fundraiser team leader to head up our very own Community Chest. A lot of prep work has already been done on a fundraising campaign and we just need someone to help get us over the top and monitor results. Responsibilities will include getting out 10 letters a week to local businesses and then following up with merchants, answering their questions about Good Sams and inviting them to a 30 minute Business Executives overview held most Fridays from 10:30-11:00 and hosted by our ministry director, Sue Rotolo. We also can provide assistance with producing the letters and making the follow up calls. If you have some experience, great, but an open heart and willingness to try is perfect! If this sounds like something you’d like to learn more about – please contact Sue at our office at 985-641-6421 or email her at GoodSams@SaintLukeSlidell.org
Social Media-
Additionally, we are hoping to interest someone to work with our social media team. We of course post on Facebook. But we also manage this Good Sams webpage and work on 2 annual online giving campaigns, iGiveCatholic and giveNOLA.. An experienced volunteer would be great, but we are happy to show anyone with an interest how it’s done Please consider sharing our work in providing the good news of Good Sams and the impact we are making in the lives of those we serve.
Profesional Services-
And finally, we find ourselves in great need of volunteers who can offer Professional Services to assist our clients in need. Dentists and Legal Professionals in Slidell have been a very much needed and appreciated source of support to our ministry.
