"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger and you invited me in."
Matthew 25:35
Who We Are?
Our Local Family Promise is an inter-faith network of 16+ congregations working to address the growing needs of displaced families with children in St. Tammany Parish. Family Promise nationally boasts a 71% success rate in graduating families into permanent, secure housing.
What Do We Provide?
The Family Promise Network provides shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes. Participating congregations provide fellowship and accommodations in their facility during one week of every quarter, for up to 4 families. Transportation is provided to a Day Center from 7:30 am-5:00 pm, where laundry and shower facilities are available. Children are transported to school. These families are screened for the program and background checks are conducted. They also work with a licensed social worker to regain their housing and their independence. By collaborating with existing social service programs, Family Promise is a cost efficient, effective community response to family homelessness.
