Make a Gift of Appreciated Securities

A gift of appreciated securities (including stock, bonds, and mutual funds) generally provides you a full market value tax deduction. When compared with selling the securities and donating after-tax proceeds, this provides an increased gift and tax deduction through avoiding long-term capital gains.

Insurance Policies and Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)

Naming an organization as a beneficiary of your insurance policy or retirement account allows these gifts to pass to the charity outside your will. Additionally, naming an organization as both owner and beneficiary of an insurance policy can provide immediate tax benefits to you. In many cases, updating beneficiaries may be completed online or via a simple form and multiple beneficiaries may be named.

Note: When adding the "Welcome Home" Campaign as a beneficiary, be sure to make your gift to "Catholic Community Foundation" for "St. Luke Campaign."

Make a Gift with a Written Check

If you would like to make a gift to the campaign with a written check, please make your check out to "Catholic Community Foundation" for "St. Luke Campaign." You can then mail your check to the address below, or drop your check off at St. Luke parish office.

Make a Gift of Cash

If you would like to make a gift to the campaign in cash, please insert your gift in an envelope carefully marked, "St. Luke Capital Campaign," and drop it in the Offertory basket at Mass.

Make a Gift through Employer Matching

Many employers offer matching gift programs. To maximize your Capital Campaign gift, contact your employer to see if a matching gift program is offered.

Make a Gift of Real Estate

Donating land can offer donors significant advantages due to two primary reasons:

1. Donors typically qualify for a charitable deduction equivalent to the fair market value of the land at the time of donation.
2. If the real estate has appreciated in value since acquisition, donating it to a qualified public charity enables donors to circumvent or mitigate capital gains tax liabilities.
